Lois Alexander was born in 1991 in San Jose, California. At 17, Lois moved to New York to study at The Alvin Ailey School and later, The Juilliard School, where she received a BFA in Dance (2014). While at Juilliard, Lois performed works by Pina Bausch, William Forsythe and Jose Limon, among several other choreographers.
Upon graduation, Lois was involved in a film project with Jonah Bokaer in Brooklyn. In fall of 2014, Lois moved to Germany to dance as a member of Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken, under the direction of Stijn Celis. During her time there, she performed works by Stijn Celis, Ohad Naharin and Johan Inger, among others.
Since fall of 2016 Lois is working as a freelance performer and dancer.
Lois is interested in the simple complexity of human nature and how that manifests itself into different forms.
