Mia Cabalfin

Mia Cabalfin has been a company member and faculty of Airdance Philippines since 2006, where she trains, performs, and choreographs. In July 2008, she participated in the Danceweb Scholarship Programme which was held in Vienna, Austria as part of the Impulstanz International Dance Festival. In that same year, she was also a finalist in the 3rd Wi_Fi Body Independent Contemporary Dance Festival New Choreographers Competition.

Throughout her time in Airdance, Mia has participated in various company productions, festivals, and artistic collaborations. Back in college, she was the president of the Company of Ateneo Dancers, and was recipient of the Dean’s Award for the Arts in Dance.

She has also delved into collaborative projects such as “Promises are Made to Be Broken” with Green Papaya Art Projects. Mia has also done choreography for film – “Ruined Heart” (Pusong Wazak) by Khavn dela Cruz working with actors Tadanobu Asano, Nathalia Acevedo, Elena Kazan and Vim Nadera, as well as choreography for a short film “Maplethorne Syrup” by David Diaz-Abaya.

Her latest solo choreographic adventure is Singap (Gasp), which was presented at the 2018 Neo Filipino at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines in August 2018.

Currently, Mia also manages and teaches Hip Hop Hooray!, a series of hip hop workshops for kids, as well as instructor and trainor at Saddle Row and Physique 57 Manila.
