The relationship between choreographer and dancers has noticeably changed over the last few years. Forms of participatory work and a general emancipation of the dancers have become part of everyday life in contemporary dance.

About the Piece

Both sides now face a number of new questions: how to best organize the creative process? How to handle shared authorship and how to make artistic exchange fundamentally succeed? These questions gain even greater urgency, when dancers and choreographer have never encountered one another before and are expected to produce results within a short space of time.

The piece "lost my choreographer on the way to the dressing room" therefore seeks to make exactly this special situation a starting point for choreographic research. It thus directly deals with the coming together of dance makers with all the expectations, misunderstandings and cultural differences that such encounters entail and attempts to cast the moment of exchange into a piece.
