When it’s nasty and dark outside, everyone should sit in front of the fireplace and listen to the melancholic sounds of great unknowns who get a bit more publicity here thanks to Klangkrieg. We might know Leafcutter John, the new star of Planet µ (who once gave the nice answer “A microphone” to the question about his favorite “piece of equipment”) or Monoland and Estompen (Mego), possibly also The Kat Cosm, but these are only a few of the 14 artists who enliven this melancholic, but by no means gloomy and wonderfully calm record. Kind of a shame it’s spring now.”
