Intro

“Nice idea that the Berlin Klangkrieg label has cooked up and implemented. An international pack of sound tinkerers is presented with a spoken word piece, theme and source material in one and sets off with cheerful doggedness on the way to a big breakthrough. Who wouldn’t want to be a millionaire? What’s special about it is that the work assignment was not invented especially, but taken from a CD enclosed with Future Music magazine. In a completely serious but shakingly grotesque appeal, the readers of the Gazette are asked by a TV composer and a producer to produce music for a new game show à la ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ in a competition. And because it’s so beautifully creepy, this call is also allowed to open the CD. Panacea introduces the topic further and explains the rules of the game for the sound war compilation, which of course have been bent again. The lucrative main prize is the boring existence as a laptop nerd. Even celebrities like Ekkehard Ehlers, Vert, Donna Summer, Guido Möbius or Harald “Sack” Ziegler don’t ask twice and try to blow up their intimate feelings in a really big big big way suitable for the mass media, so that we listeners at home can properly join in the excitement.”
