Alexander Madriz

Alexander Madriz is born on February 10, 1971 in Caracas, Venezuela. He is a dancer, choreographer, and artistic director, and he was trained by great masters of dance in Venezuela, among them, José (El Negro) Ledezma.
He has danced and performed with the companies Taller de Danza Caracas, Pisorrojo, Tejadanza Teatro, and DanzaHoy, among others.
He has produced, choreographed, and directed dance works and shows of mixed abilities.
He was director and choreographer of the Transito Danza Integrativa Company, dedicated to promoting the expressive abilities of people with reduced mobility.
He directs AM Danza Compañía de Habilidades Mixtas, which bases its creative work on the permanent rediscovery of the potential of diverse bodies.
She founded and directs Ubuntu Teresa Carreño, one of the stable companies of the Fundación Teatro Teresa Carreño.
Her theatrical approaches are aimed at promoting a new narrative on bodily expressivity, based on the vindication of inclusion.
His artistic proposal has been recognised in Venezuela and other countries such as Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Kenya, Spain, United Kingdom, and Germany.
He has participated in international festivals that promote mixed-ability dance: Encuentro Latinoamericano de Danza (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Encuentro de Creadores con Capacidades Especiales (Bogotá, Colombia), Eigenartig Festival (Bremen, Germany), UnLimited (London, UK), DanzaMovile (Seville, Spain), Edinburgh Showcase Festival (Edinburgh, Scotland) and DASH International Showcase Tour “Señas para la inclusión” (Caracas, Venezuela).
