Naishi Wang

Born in Changchun, China, Naishi Wang received his professional dance training from the Dance School of Jilin College of Art and furthered his dance training with the Beijing Dance Academy, Classical Chinese Dance Department. In 2004 he came to Canada continue his dance studies at the School of Toronto Dance Theater. He has been a member of TDT since 2006, where he has had the opportunity to work with world wild choreographers such as Peter Chin, Deborah Hay, Thomas Hauert, Christopher House, Alban Richard, Heidi Strauss and Christoph Winkler. Wang has also worked independently for Allison Coming, Paul-Andrea Fortier, William Yong, Hanna Kiel and Heidi Strauss. Nominated for Dora Awards dance division in 2013 for his Outstanding Performance in “different animals” choreographed by Hanna Kiel. Naishi teaches improvisation classes in Xing Dance and Durham School Of Ballet And Contemporary Dance. He had created a full length dance piece for SMX Studio in 2010 Beijing, China.
