Marie Akoury

Marie Akoury was born in Frankfurt/Main in 1988 with French-Egyptian roots.
She completed her Bachelor of Arts in fashion design at the University of the Arts in Berlin.
After a few years of professional experience in the field of exhibition design, she decided to complete a master’s degree in stage design at the TU Berlin.
She works as a freelance costume and set designer and scenographer. In her work she moves at the interface between textile and spatial design. The connection between body and space is an essential starting point for her artistic work.
Marie Akoury is a scholarship holder of the Art Promotion of the German National Academic Foundation.
