Said El Haddaji

Said El Haddaji is a Moroccan artist based in Kenitra. Paying attention to life and daily gestures, he proceeds his artistic research constantly connected to Moroccan social issues. He starts hip-hop in 2005, before becoming interested in contemporary dance. In 2018, he founds Cie Hna-ya and creates his first solo Obscurité. The piece is presented in international festivals in Morocco, France and Burkina Fasso. The company’s second in 2019, ‘Dans le vent’ is a duo developed in collaboration with Manon de Matauco. At the core of its activity, the company also develops transmission times that take place in Morocco, France, Netherlands and Burkina Faso. The piece Sorakhe comes out from a series of residencies in Rabat, Cairo, Tunis, and in the CND (Centre National de la Danse) in Lyon. In 2021, Said is part of the professional program Shubbak 2021 Uk, He was also invited to the Avignon 75th seminar. Sorakhe will be presented at the Biennale of Dance in Africa (Marrakech) in November 2021 to continue an international tour.
