ANUnaran Jargalsaikhan

ANUnaran Jargalsaikhan is a multidisciplinary artist who works in mixed media painting, performance art, video performance, and installation art. She holds an MA in Art History from the School of Mongolian Language and Culture, as well as a BA in Institute Fine Arts from MUAC. She has been inquiring about a Doctorate in Art Critic at NUM.

Her artworks have continuously evolved as she has come to place a greater emphasis on the conventionally hidden, inconspicuous side of universal dualism such as feminine and masculine, interior and exterior, subconscious and conscious, metaphysical and physical. She is inspired from Mongolian ancient perception of NAGA, |NATURE-EARTH and Buddhism. Anunaran. J has developed her own unique mix of techniques is embroidered, sewed, applique, and photo-based work combining various materials such as fabric, pens, thread, acrylic, oil, printing, and felt etc. The result is a sophisticated, meticulous that results in 3D works, elements of Tanka and photo-based blends works.

She has held nine solo exhibitions in Korea, Russia and Mongolia: Don`t be Afraid solo exhibition at The Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2011), Freewill solo exhibition at Red Ger Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2015), Metamorphosis solo exhibition at Hyundai Art Gallery in Daejeon, Korea (2015) and 976 Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2016), Crescendo solo exhibition at Art Gallery of UMA in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2017), Cycle solo exhibition at Art Deco Art Gallery, Ulaanbaatar (2017), The Love solo exhibition at Khan Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2019), and V.Bronshtyen Art Gallery, Irkutsk, Russia (2020), Child of God solo exhibition at The National Modern Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2021). Have won numerous prizes and awards, including a Special prize in the 51th Japan Fashion Design Contest in Tokyo, Japan in 2013, Grand Prix prize in Grand Art-7 Mongolian young artists` competition in 2015 and First place in Golden Brush International Art competition in Mongolia in 2018. Finalist, International Print Biennial R.O.C, in Taichung, Taiwan in 2022. Environmental Dance Prize, International 3rd Eco Performance Film Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

ANUnaran Jargalsaikhan’s curatorial work is equally prominent, as Curator of notable events such as “ZUUN ART” at Blue Sun Contemporary Art Center of Mongolia (CACM) in Zuunkharaa, Mongolia (2022), and D. Dorjderem’s solo exhibition “Datum in the space” at UMA’s Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2023). ANUnaran Jargalsaikhan is currently as Artistic Director at Blue Sun Contemporary Art Center of Mongolia (CACM).
