Dava Huesca

Dava Huesca, from New York City graduated from SUNY Purchase conservatory of Dance with magna cum laude distinction in 2019. In 2015 she graduated second in the dance dept. from Fiorello LaGuardia Arts High School, and was awarded Desire Keras Dancer from the Heart award. Dava has performed works by  Rena Butler, Hannah Gardner, Sidra Bell, Maxine Doyle, Manuel Vigoulle, Martha Graham Dance Company, Johannes Weiland, Vanessa Goodman, and VIM VIGOR dance company.

Dava is the curator for New York Times and Dance Spirit magazine cited instagram @Issadancelook. Additionally, she is the co-founder of the interdisciplinary arts collective LLAB RATS. Through LLAB RATS, she has performed and set work with Dorchel Haqq for Battery Dance Festival, Ciclo Dos, Purchase Dance company, Arts on site, The Craft NYC and others. She teaches floor work based classes throughout NYC including Gibney Dance and the Playground NYC. In January 2021, Dava was the first Springboard Danse Montreal nominated recipient of Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation AIR Founder’s Residency. Through this nomination Dava premiered her first Dance Film “New Growth”.  Dava joined VIM VIGOR dance company fall of 2019 and is an adjunct professor at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance for VIM VIGOR.
