Adilso Machado

Adilso Machado (Born 27 May 1980 – in Brazil) is an Artistic Director and dancer who works between Glasgow and Brazil. His work is characterized by physical rigour. He has a degree in physical education from UDESC (Brazil). Currently resides in Florianopolis/Brazil and in Glasgow/Scotland. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the art field, working in companies as a dancer and choreographer, and also leading his own projects as a creator and researcher. He also often teaches workshops along with his performances.
He developed his professional work with directors such as Alejandro Ahmed (Grupo Cena 11 Cia. de Dança/Brazil) dancing for 9 years in his company, Toula Limnaios (Berlin/ Germany), and Eva Schul ( Anima Dance Company/Brazil). He’s done a residency with Lia Rodrigues (Lia Rodrigues Dance Company/Brazil) and a residency with Hooman Sharifi (Impure Company/Norway). His training and knowledge also are based on circus techniques, having worked for three years for a circus company.
Among his main works, he created three solo dance researches, one duet and one trio. His most recent solo is called “Solidão Pública” (“Public Loneliness”, 2014), a project that was awarded a governmental prize for its creation and touring in several places in Brazil.
