Waris Rasheed

Waris Rasheed is a multidisciplinary artist from Nigeria who began his early career with African traditional dance. A native of Oyo State, he now lives in Lagos, Nigeria. After spending time exploring movement, he has become interested in creating movements and music, fascinated by the relationship between the sounds that body movements generate. He is widely recognized for his Nigerian street music, going by the name AZZI ON THE BEAT.

He has been involved in numerous artistic productions both as a dancer and as a sound artist, including events like the Afropean Festival in Frankfurt, the Bad News Festival in Wiesbaden, and has won many prestigious awards. Currently, he serves as a sound artist for R2 PRODUKTIONS and is one of the lead dancers for The Future Of Dance Company.
