Bernd Kopf

Bernd Kopf

Bernd Richard Kopf, born in 1983, is a German media designer and artist who explores the boundaries between digital aesthetics and sonic experience under the pseudonym “Kopfgestaltung.” His work brings together 3D animation (CGI) and sound design to create immersive audiovisual worlds. To achieve a distinctive atmospheric depth, he combines digital processes with analogue techniques such as video and photography.

After completing his master’s degree at Hochschule Mainz in 2018, he established himself as a freelance designer through collaborations with renowned national and international studios. A defining feature of his independent artistic practice is the extent to which each work is created from scratch. Textures are developed from his own photographs or procedural techniques, while 3D objects are shaped through bespoke modelling and digital sculpting. The sonic dimension follows the same commitment to original creation, drawing primarily on custom-designed synth patches and field recordings.

Kopf’s works, exhibited internationally and sought after by collectors of digital art, are characterised by ongoing experimentation with different media and narrative forms.
